The Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has launched the first ever online Contractor Compliance Institute (CCI).

The Contractor Compliance Institute (CCI) is an interactive learning management system designed to educate employers with federal contracts and subcontracts on how to comply with the OFCCP’s Equal Employment Opportunity regulations, cites an OFCCP press release.

Contractors and stakeholders alike will have access to courses through the online institute and can register on the Compliance Institute website. Employers interested in receiving the latest news on courses and resources can subscribe to the OFCCP email updates.

Currently, there are training courses available for Compensation Managers, Hiring Managers, Human Resources Managers, and Recruiters. Employers should anticipate more training courses soon.

Amongst other resources on the CCI include Section 503 Focused Reviews and Functional Affirmative Action Programs guides as well as an eLaws Federal Contractor Advisor tool.

The OFCCP enforces EO 11246, Section 503 and VEVRAA, which prohibit contractors and subcontractors from discriminating on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. In addition, these laws require federal contractors to take steps to ensure equal employment opportunity in their employment processes.

This initiative is part of the OFCCP’s stated ongoing commitment to transparency, which includes efforts to better monitor and enforce workplace equality. They should see the agency’s continued efforts to improve its processes as an opportunity to improve processes and transparency within their own organizations.
