The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has set the filing date for the 2017 EEO-1 Report for the new deadline of The March 18, 2018. The report should be completed by companies, including federal contractors, with 100 or more employees.

The new deadline is a change from the traditional annual deadline of The September 30., which moved to March 31 starting in 2018. The new deadline was developed as part of the EEOC’s effort to also have pay data added to the annual EEO-1 report. The extended deadline was developed to provide more time for companies to compile the pay data by gender, race, and ethnicity. White House Office of Management and Budget(OMB) put the new summary pay data requirements stayed the implementation of the new form in August in accordance with its authority under the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) of 1995. The OMB will now conduct a review of the effectiveness of those aspects of the EEO-1 form that were revised on September 29, 2016.

The EEOC is allowing filers to use the 2016 EEO-1 form for the 2017 report. The reports must be based on a payroll period in October, November or December, 2017, chosen by the employer as the basis for the information to be included in the report.
